Yes, you need to eat at this restaurant.
Yes they are
You are out of luck here on any gluten free. THIS COUNTRY COOKING AT IT'S BEST.
Since this is a family owned restraunt I do not think so. I would look them up online to make sure of hours and days open....
We drove over an hour to their to realize they're closed! Even with Google maps advertising they're open. If your hours are wrong then you need to fix it on here so others will see that its closed! Wont update my review until I've actually tried yalls food! But for now its a 1 star!
Great family style food. Good variety and plenty to eat. I can't wait to eat there again.
Great catfish. Pintos and slaw
So I ate here once when I was about 8 years old. 34 years later I decided to take my wife out for something different. After she received her drink and tried it, it was as if the carbonation to syrup mix was off. She said something to the waitress who then went on to argue with her and said it was from a fountain. At this point we should have just said thanks and left. But we decided to give it a try. The waitress brought her a Dr. Pepper which was mostly carbonated water. So the food came out, we both ordered Roast Beef. It was lukewarm at best and the roast beef was more like what you’d get for a sandwich instead of a meal. So disappointed with the meal and the level of service. I hope that if you go here your experience is better than ours. The lady working as hostess was Very nice and seemed surprised at our experience. Maybe it was an off night. I do have to say that our waitress probably should not be working in said capacity.
The Pine Tavern Restaurant is a gem tucked away in the mountains of Virginia. We got the family style lunch which was delicious and affordable. We got salad, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, roast beef, smoked pinto beans, sweet cabbage, biscuits, drinks, and dessert all included and as much as we wanted. The mashed potatoes and chicken were amazing. The waitress who helped us was one of the sweetest waitresses I've ever had! There's plenty of parking in the back and the blue ridge parkway is close by if you want to see some pretty scenery after you eat.
Reed....the owner....has the best fried catfish dinners hands down.....I would travel hours just for that!!!
